| | Over the last 18 months we have talked about posting information on the Forum to encourage people to actually visit the site. A case i point would be the business trends survey emailed to me today. If the email had been a link to this site instead of the whole thing, then I would have been forced to log in to read it. 2 months ago I had the conversation with Chamber office about this and was told that this was happening, well today it has not. Another issue was monthly council minutes, lets tell our membership (who we see once a year) what we actually discuss once a month on there behalf, add the press to any info emails sent and you never know, chambers profile may go up and the states and more importantly industry, may just take note in what we have to say !! Love to hear feedback from the office and everybody else who may see this, Oh and dont phone or email me replys, POST IT !! |

| I was having the same conversation with Neil from Submarine the other day...
Also today at the Chamber Lunch pushed Barry Cash for some movement on promoting the site / forum to members etc and he did say something was happening....... what i don't know as the conversation digressed...
After the lunch i offered my services for anything that could help bring the profile of the site up... I'll let you know if anything happens...
Fingers crossed eh, my post to try and generate more posts didn't do much, good luck to this one!

| I want to expand this out to, effectively, anyone with a business interest. The concept was initally as a Chamber member benefit - therefore no membership meant no access. I'm wondering if YBG members shouldn't be involved or invited along with the CGI pool. I'd go further than that and expand it out to management of any member companies. If the objective is a communication tool for Guernsey business, a forum for like minded people a memebership driver for Chamber proper would it not be worth considering casting a wider net?

| If Council/Executive decide to give the above idea a go I do sit on some 2000 email addresses that we mail regularly with surveys and information etc. I'm happy to do a one off shot to that db encouraging the business community to sign up. Before you go down this route I suggest you bulk up on some topics though; it's getting there but I'll need a more compelling offering.
Congrats on your promotion Garrick and Adam
In the immortal words of the Human League:
Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet
Success has been so easy for you
But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now
And I can put you back down too
Don't, don't you want me?
You know I can't believe it when I hear that you won't see me
Well done chaps and keep up the good work |
