Sorry but not an introduction but thought it might draw attention?? and its at the top. :-)

This is about the Forum...

i pop in fairly regularly and wondered how many people actually do the same.

How about you post a quick reply, maybe something funny?? just to say you are visiting..

I would be very interested to know how many different people actually log on as its seems very quiet here lately!

I'm here fairly regularly although even I have been a bit shy recently! I do try to log in once a day during the week though. It will be interesting to see how many you get Adam. The topic came up at last night's council meeting, and the question was asked - how many people actually use the online resources available to Chamber members?

Anyway, see you Thursday!

Hi Garrick

19 views and one post so far, it would appear that there are more voyeurs than participants which i find a great shame. This area has great potential to generate lively banter / discussion and to extend friendships / working relationships.

Lets see what happens eh!!

Remember its polling day today!!! No vote, no comment!!

Adam
Bearing in mind that most of the list in the 'Who's On ' section at any time is Google then it would be safe to assume that of the 19 views, only a couple would be actual people. Just concentrate on the replies, which shows that not many people are engaging. Poor show really.
I will be voting this evening, although I still haven't made my final choices.
Cheers for now
G

After a hard day of drilling, the drill sergeant let the troops go.

"All right, you idiots, report to the mess hall."

Everybody walked away, sweating and their heads down, thankful for the end of the hard day.

Only one private remained.

He looked at the officer and sincerely said, "Boy, there sure were a lot of them, huh, serge."

Hey Adam

We're trying. You can lead a horse to water......and all that.

Will persevere though.

Hey Admin

I notice from your bulk e-mail to everyone about the Submarine poll on Island wide voting generated a response... people actually visited the forum!

Think we need to do more of this type of "marketing" for the forum, may be people could "opt in" for notifications of new postings no matter what the subject?? May be have it set as a default so members actually have to opt out??

Only ideas.....

Keep dragging the horse as one day it might notice its on the way to the pub :-)

I did suggest last year that instead of emailing documents out to members they are instead posted onto the forum and a link sent out so that people would need to go to the forum to get the info.

A case in  point would be the travel details last week, post each report up and then comment would probably follow.

A few may say that they want it sent but you force em in a way to visit and hopefully participate, that way you lead the horse to water, put a gun to its head and shoot the thing if it doesn't drink !!

Hi Chris

The posting of reports and documents on the forum is an excellent idea and whilst i agree that it attracted some people you will see from the stats only about 12 members!

Thought i would stir up a can of worms re the Foie Gras, but hey ho, no bites!! Very emotive subject and cant believe that no one looked and wanted to reply before me! I also didn't understand why no one had replied to my response, however on looking at the stats over the past 2 weeks of this thread i now realise why!

Within the "Members" area at the top of the page it shows statistics of visits and posts etc, you will note from these that most members have only registered and then haven't revisited again... lets get those in, remind them of their passwords etc...

What else can we do...?? answers on a postcard to the "drinking horse", c/o Guernsey Chamber of Commerce :-)
