| | Just received this email from a hotel and asked to make the industry aware :- Hi Chris We had a group staying with us in May this year from a German tour operator called Scharmers Reiseburo. As they were a new client we had requested full payment on departure which they tried to do with their company credit card. The card was declined and the tour organiser promised he would arrange payment on return to Germany. We had had a great deal of correspondence with the company for the booking so weren’t particularly worried at this stage. To date the account has still not been settled and despite much effort to contact Scharmers, emails and faxes go unanswered and the telephone seems to be on answerphone or just unanswered. I see from their website that they are offering tours to Guernsey again for 2008 so I wanted to warn hoteliers of their unnacceptable accounts procedures prior to accepting bookings from them. The company is Scharmers Reiseburo GmbH Kapellenkamp 7 D - 23569 Lübeck Telefon: +49(0)451 - 20 38 989 Telefax: +49(0)451 - 70 74 94 54 eMail: info@scharmers-reisebuero.de |
