Could Chamber help in creating a forum for bulk purchasing, advice on where to get the best deals, using its' collective membership to obtain preferential rates for credit card charges etc. There must be a lot of us out there that could benefit from others experiences.

This would certainly be a huge benefit to our small business, here in Sark. During the last 12 months we have received some interesting quotes from various merchant service providers. I feel sure as group we could negotiate something significant with a preferred provider.
I would be pleased to share our experiences with other members.

Dear Ian and Paul

I'm happy to set up anything for the membership. Expanding this idea a bit, would you want a forum specifically for fiscal deals or should we expand this out to somthing along the lines of "Bulk Purchasing Group"? Can you give me an idea of the type of content or precis your thoughts

Thanks

Regards

Tried setting up a credit card rate for hotel industry but banks dont want to play ball and are reluctant to come up with a standard rate based on business type, its usually based on turnover

I am quite happy to tell what I pay, maybe I am paying too much maybe not. Barry maybe you could set up a spread sheet detailing all the major cards with a column for charge rates. You could then Email that to interested parties to fill in and collate them all when returned.
