Carrie Birch has joined the team at Chamber as office manager. She works mornings 9am – 1pm and joins the other part time staff Jane Bristowe, Rodney Reed and Mike Collins as we try to meet the needs of all Chamber members.

Chamber Lunch Club provides a good opportunity for networking with business colleagues and listening to a topical speaker on a key Island topic. At £10 for a three course meal and a glass of wine, the lunch is excellent value. We welcome new and
occasional members who should contact Chamber office to make arrangements beforehand. The next Lunch Club is on Tuesday 17th July

Representatives of the Retail Sub-Committee had a very positive meeting with The Public Services Department on 21st June to discuss issues of waste packaging and encourage recycling initiatives to reduce landfill. A further meeting is being held with the Recycling Advisory Forum on 25th July to reply to specific questions on waste from the Retail sector.

Chamber’s Annual Business Directory is in the final stages of preparation and should be published and circulated during July. Any delay in publication has been due to delays in preparing all the information at the Chamber office.

Chamber provides a range of export services for its members with links and contacts to many other Chambers. Guernsey Chamber is affiliated to the British Chambers of Commerce and is authorised to authenticate European Certificates of Origin on behalf of the DTI. In addition we are able to arrange certification and legalisation of documents at foreign embassies. Members of Chamber receive a significant discount on the standard charges.

Chamber recently received the Keep Guernsey Green Award and has an active waste recycling sub-committee. Any member who wants to discuss business waste and recycling issues is welcome to call the Chamber office on 727483 to discuss their
requirements and benefit from our experience.

The Chamber office is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm and a meeting room with facilities is available for use of members at a small charge. Telephone 727483 or email office@chamber.guernsey.net to make enquiries.
