President Mark Trenchard has made a call to all Council members to become more involved in key Chamber activities with a view to achieving real results. Targets had to be identified that were achievable in order to add value to membership as a whole. Chamber’s new website has now been given the go-ahead and will shortly provide much better communication with members.
Jan Vaudin has recently departed from Chamber to take up a new post at Cable & Wireless and we wish her well. The ‘part-time’ team left to run the office are Jane Bristowe, Rodney Reed and Mike Collins. Chamber’s Executive Committee is presently reviewing staffing for the day-to-day needs and project-work within the Chamber office.
Chamber provides a range of approved business certification services for its members. Call the office and ask for the full range of international services we can provide. Mike Collins is completing training with British Chambers of Commerce to allow him to take over the certification work previously done by Jan Vaudin
Chamber Lunch Club provides a good opportunity for networking with business colleagues and listening to a speaker on a key Island topic. At £10 for a three course meal and a glass of wine, the lunch is excellent value. We welcome new and occasional members who should contact Chamber office to make arrangements beforehand. The next Lunch Club is on Tuesday May 15th
Chamber is working closely with the Public Services Department following the recent handing over of Waste Management responsibilities. Alan Crowe from Guernsey Recycling was elected to Chamber Council at the recent AGM and will be able to provide valuable assistance to the activities of Chamber’s business waste subcommittee.
Chamber sends a single copy of Business Contact to each member monthly. If your company needs additional copies then contact the office Tel: 727483 to make arrangements.
