SEVEN WEEK IN – FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The Guernsey Chamber of Commerce are delighted to welcome Chief Minister, Lyndon Trott as our speaker for the June Chamber lunch.
A true Guernseyman, locally educated Lyndon pursued a career in accountancy before in 2000 he entered local politics when, at the time, he became the States of Guernsey’s youngest member. He rapidly climbed the political tree. In 2004 Lyndon became the Island’s first Treasury and Resources Minister a position which has responsibility for the oversight of the management of cash, equities and bonds in excess of £1.25billion and built assets of £1.5billion. In May 2008 Lyndon was elected Chief Minister of Guernsey a position he will hold until 2012.
Lyndon will give his initial thoughts on the present and future position of the States following his first few weeks in office. He will talk about the structure of the States and whether his personal influence is sufficient to lead the Policy Council. He will also be making an announcement on a new States policy.
Chamber Director, Barry Cash said, “We are extremely pleased that the Chief Minister could find the time, at this early stage of his appointment, to join us at our Chamber lunch. This is a great opportunity for us to hear from the top his personal views on Guernsey’s challenging times ahead and the great opportunities for the future”
The lunch will take place at Moore’s Hotel at 12.15 for 12.30pm on Tuesday 17 June. Bookings for individual places or tables can be made with the Chamber Office on 727483
